Abstract of the Report

I am Karthika Sathyendran, an In-Service Advisor of the Zonal Education office in Thenmardchy, in the Northern Province. I completed my first degree in the field of BSc in IT at India and successfully completed my MSc in Computer Science at Periyar University, India. After that I served as a teacher of IT at J/Chandrapura Skandavaodaya M.V in Chavakachcheri from 2012 to 2019. I am presently working as an Instructor of Information Technology at the Distance Learning Hub in Thenmaradchy. During this period I have completed MEd at National Institute of Education, Sri Lanka in 2018. Also, I am working as a Master Teacher for teaching practice supervision and assignment marker in
the Faculty of Education at the Open University of Sri Lanka.

When the C-DELTA Phase 3 was introduced in the beginning of 2022 I was requested to join as a Provincial-level Coordinator (PCT) for the Northern Province in Sri Lanka. Five schools in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka have been selected to the project. On the basis of the pre-test marks of the C-DELTA, 5 student teachers of the Post Graduate Diploma in Education 2021/2022 (PGDE) have been selected as School-level Coordinators (SCT). After the selection of PCTs and SCTs we participated in a C-DELTA training workshop. Through this workshop we received all information related to the project. Then I created a WhatsApp group and communicated with all 5 SCTs. However
due to various reasons such as lack of physical resources, lack of computers, unavailability of internet services, insufficient support of school administration and personal reasons 4 selected SCTs have dropped out from the project.

However, C-DELTA project activities have been successfully conducted at the J/Delft Maha Vidiyalayam, which is a Type 1C, a most difficult school situated in the Delft Island, 13 km sea miles away from the Jaffna city. In this school 14 teachers and 16 students have been registered in the C-DELTA programme. However only 8 teachers and 7 students were able to complete and obtain the
certificates.

Through the C-DELTA project activities students and teachers were able to gain many experiences such as safe handling of the social media though the internet, engaging in online examinations safely and easily, and searching information on the internet safely. In addition, teachers understood how to
receive information for their teaching-learning activities through search engines in a safe manner. In future as an ICT resource person working at the center of Information Technology Distance Learning Hub, I am willing to introduce this C-DELTA activities to other teachers in my educational zone.
